Since 1958, the ACSO has offered local musicians of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to perform in a full symphony orchestra and to present quality symphonic programs to the Greater Atlanta community. As Atlanta’s oldest community orchestra, our roots run deep within the community. Being an integral part of and uniting the community is one of our core values. That’s why all of our concerts are free, and our performance venues vary throughout metropolitan Atlanta. We actively engage the community with our music through events such as the Ruth Kern Young Artists’ Concerto Competition and Artis in Music Competition.
A New Look! The 2023-2024 Concert Season…
The stage is set for what is going to be a musical season like no other. Three fabulous Guest Conductors join our family this year to present programming born of their imagination and vision for creating engaging, interactive, educational, and fun concerts. On the main stage we will feature our full ensemble concerts with guest soloists and collaboration. The “In Your Neighborhood – Engagement Series” heralds the return of our popular small ensemble concerts and will feature guest soloists showcasing their talents as well as rhythms from Latin-American roots and Celtic rhythms.

As the ACSO heads into its 66th season, we are thrilled to be working with fantastic guest conductors! They share a passion for music and share in the ACSO’s vision of promoting the appreciation and enjoyment of music and helping to build our community around music. We welcome Phillip E. Allen, Robert Trocina, and Pablo Zamora to our family for the 2023-2024 season!
